MESSAGE FROM THE CHAIRMAN

Thank you for visiting our website. On November 4th 2008 all Connecticut voters will have an enormous opportunity to truly change our state government for the better. Per ARTICLE 13 Section 2 of our state Constitution every twenty years the ballot question, "Shall there be a Constitutional Convention to amend or revise the Constitution of the state" be placed on the ballot for your consideration. Our mission is to inform and educate as many people as we can that it is extremely important for them to vote yes to this question. If the yes votes win then it will be incumbent upon the state legislature to convene a state Constitution Convention. It will be in this arena where we can implement Initiative Referenda as a mechanism and amend our state Constitution for a 31st time. Direct initiative is Jacksonian democracy at it's best. Lets provide the people with an option to petition issues if they so choose, lets let the people decide! Please read on to see how Initiative Referenda works, its history in our country and why through a mountain of research and evidence it has been proven to be a positive policy implemented by other states.
